Spectre sends a murderer to hell, despite being told by the original Mr. Terrific that the man is a master of the occult who has opened doors into hell before.50 years later, someone is killing members of Dr. Mid-Nite’s group of helpers, shooting them with .45 caliber slugs from a tommy gun. In New York, Rex Tyler is racing around the city searching for criminals and taking them down in an attempt to keep his mind off of his son Rick, mortally wounded and trapped in the Timepoint.Atom and Mr. Terrific are continuing the search for a method to reach Rick and save him, while Stargirl is missing Billy Batson. And Spectre is in Portsmouth, seeking people to punish.When a second member of Dr. Mid-Nite’s team is gunned down, he calls to the JSA for help. While discussing the afterlife in a church, Mr. Terrific and Dr. Mid-Nite are interrupted by the Spectre, who announces he has lost control of the spirits he has damned. And the Spirit King shows up to confirm this.
