Justice League of America, Vol. 1 – Issue 236

The League face off against the Overmaster and his Cadre as Dale Gunn returns to the Detroit headquarters to find Gypsy hiding. She tells him that the League were captured as they returned and are likely in trouble. As the battle turns, the League apparently flee while Gunn and Gypsy fly to the arctic, tracking the Leaguers by their ID location. The League, in the bowels of the Overmaster’s hideout, find a huge being, apparently semi-concious, before the Cadre attack them once more. Gyspsy arrives and manages to distract the Overmaster long enough to allow J’onn J’onnz to attack him, leaving her to inadvertently attempt contact with the semi-concious creature. The Overmaster and Cadre vanish, allowing the League to escape, realising that the Overmaster was not the omnipotent being he claimed to be and that the semi-concious creature was the real Overmaster.
