J’onn J’onzz, Vixen and Steel discover the body of Vibe and the replica of the android’s face that covers his own, allowing J’onn to deduce who the killer is. Ivo has another psychiatric session with one of his androids and admits to some confusion over whether to kill Gypsy due to her youth and innocence. Overcoming his doubts, he activates another android and sets it on the way to kill Gypsy. Having helped J’onn find the runaway teenager Pamela Cross, Gypsy takes her home to rejoin her parents before leaving, intending to go back to her own family. She accepts a lift from a passing car driven by Ivo’s android. J’onn tells Vixen and Steel of Professor Ivo, his creation of the Amazo android and the life extending drug that disfigured him. Telling the others to remain in the headquarters, J’onn tries to seek Ivo out. The android attacks Gypsy and Ivo watches through the cameras in its eyes as it kills her and places a copy of its face on to her own. Once Ivo stops monitoring the android, it allows the unharmed Gyspy to live, having absorbed Ivo’s confusion and decided not to harm her. Instead, it takes her home to her family and, as it leaves, is found by J’onn.
