Some places are haunted by ghosts, while some people are haunted by loneliness. Legend has it that the souls of those who have committed suicide in the massive forest of Aokigahara are trapped between its increasingly hungry roots. Now that Alan’s troubled girlfriend, Masami, has committed suicide there, she comes back as a vengeful spirit, hell-bent on ruining every friendship that he has in Tokyo. But to what end??
