Ultimate X-Men – Issue 86
£2.00
The Fenris Twins have the drop on the new team of X-Men, and have laid out Bishop. They give Wolverine a matching blow before sicking the Sentinels around them on the mutants. The robots and the mutants trade blows for more than a few pages. Meanwhile, Stryfe leads Pyro to the MLF’s base to let their new recruit know … They know he’s a spy! Right before the obligatory butt kicking would begin, Stryfe orders everyone to stand down. He wants the spy to see that all the mutants need to work together, and report back to the X-Men in hopes they can be persuaded. Beast and Nick Fury have a conversation discussing why Beast, presumed dead, cannot just barge into the mansion and resume his old life. Beast slips into the night before Fury’s team can capture him. A shaken Jean also slips into the comfort of Cyclops’ arms, leaving the reader to wonder if she embraced the Phoenix force as well. Later that night Stryfe gives a rally speech that the government is using sentinels to hunt mutants again before he is confronted by an anti-mutant activist, Pyro watches as the MLF holds the dissenting loudmouth at bay and Stryfe sneaks off with the teleporting Zero. What could he be running from? The Sentinels that are making the way to the rally, perhaps? Speaking of Sentinels, The team’s luck has run out as almost all the robots are down, but they’ve been knocked on their keister themselves. Fenris ambushes Dazzler, and hold their hands to the back of Psylocke’s head, They standoff against Wolverine threatening to use their energy blast on Psylocke, not knowing which the hard-edge mutant will choose. The choice is taken out of his hands, as a recovering Bishop finds his feet, pulls his own gun, and orders the twins to step away from his wife.
