Uncle Sam and the Freedom Fighters, Vol. 1 – Issue 8

Uncle Sam and the Freedom Fighters defend the American people from Gonzo the Mechanical Bastard, posing as President Knight, who launches an all out attack on the Fighters with the members of First Strike. As Sam and his companions fight back and ultimately defeat the troops, Gonzo is captured by Father Time who has betrayed him to Sam. Stripping the sentience out of Gonzo, Time uses an Orphan Box to transform the creature into a pair of spectacles which will give him access to everything Gonzo knew.Once the fight is over, the Vice President – now acting President – offers Sam and his crew the opportunity to work for the government instead of against it.
