Jean Grey is alive, as revealed in Avengers #262 and Fantastic Four #286. Mr. Fantastic calls Warren to let him know, and Warren gets the old gang together. Although it will cause huge problems for Scott’s marriage to Madelyne Pryor, they know they have to be a team again. Taking on the public image of X-Factor, the group pretends to be a collection of mutant hunters while secretly working to locate and train mutants for their own safety in a world filled with mutant hysteria.
